Congratulations to the girls cricket team who played in the true spirit of the game last Wednesday. Unfortunately they were defeated in the Western semi-finals against Wellington, but managed to stay in wicket for the whole 25 overs. It took
Wellington 21 overs to chase the required runs of 86. There were notable catches from Alex Couley, Ava Medley and Holly Keizer. The bowlers tried hard with their aim: Meg Hogan 2-24,Maddi Fernando 1-14, Kate Roberts 1-11 & Lily Drash 1-11. Ava Medley top scored with 9 runs which included a four. Wicket keeper for the first time, Lucy Gleeson, did a fabulous job letting only a few balls go past her. Altogether, the girls played well as a team and their efforts have made Mrs Heaslip very proud. Their commitment to training sessions, and the game, for two terms this year has been commendable. A big thankyou to the parents and other family members who supported the team with transport and cheering on the day and throughout the year. Thankyou also to Lindsay Wood for umpiring the game and to Alan Fernando for scoring.
